- Microsoft 365 / Office→LibreOffice
I get the advantages of having everything all in one place, but the whole Microsoft ecosystem and hyper integration just got a bit too overwhelming with a shit-ton of products that I don't need but are constantly in my face. I missed having a standalone document processing suite just sitting nicely on my desktop just like in the old days, but with modern capabilities and an intuitive interface.
Anonymous - Goodreads→StoryGraph
Happy to be using a non-Amazon alternative! StoryGraph's migration tool was quick and a no-brainer. Also, crowdsourced ratings on details such as pace, character or plot driven, character development, loveability of characters, diversity of characters, flaws of characters, are much better metrics than a 5-star rating system.

Taking back my privacy! I realized Google had such a stronghold on me and I wanted to deliberately choose non-Google alternatives.
Anonymous - Google Chrome→Mullvad
Just feels great to be able to diversify my tools. Mullvad feels light and doesn't allow a ton of customisation. In other words, it's a no BS product. Love it!

I was once hesitant to switch to a de-Googled phone because I thought I’d lose access to some essential-for-life-in-Sweden apps—BankID, Swish, public transport, PostNord, 1177, you name it. But now that I’ve got my de-Googled SHIFTphone, I’m stoked to say that everything works!
